Face
Facial procedures encompass all components of the face. The position of the eyebrows, eyelids, neck and facial tissues all complement one another to form a person's facial appearance. The delicate nuances and balanced relationship of these features, along with the nose, are what make each person unique and beautiful.

Facelift
Details
Facelift or "Rhytidectomy" is the most comprehensive approach to address facial aging due to vertical descent of tissue, loss of volume, and elasticity (better known as wrinkles). By removing excess, sagging skin, smoothing deep folds, and lifting and tightening the deep facial tissues, facelift surgery can help a patient look not just younger, but simply “better.” As the face, eyes and neck work together to create a person’s facial appearance, it is common to combine face and neck procedures to achieve a patient’s goals. Doing so helps to ensure smooth, refined lines and a naturally balanced appearance.
Downtime
5-7 days of surgical downtime and up to 14 days of social downtime
Who is a good candidate?
- Non-smokers
- Individuals 50+ years old in generally good health without conditions that impair wound healing
- Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectations
Recovery
Patients typically return to normal daily activities after about 2 weeks, with lifting restrictions during those 2 weeks (strenuous exercise will need to wait about 4 weeks).
Rhinoplasty
Details
Rhinoplasty, or "Nose Reshaping" improves the size, shape, and symmetry of the nose, bringing it into better proportion to the rest of the face. Rhinoplasty is a truly artistic, highly individualized surgery. Delicate refinements can affect significant change. By reshaping the nasal structures, including bone, cartilage and skin, a skilled, qualified cosmetic surgeon will explain to you what is possible and help you achieve a nose that looks natural with your unique features.
Downtime
3-7 days of surgical downtime and up to 14 days of social downtime
Who is a good candidate?
- Non-smokers
- Individuals 18-65+ years old in generally good health
- Individuals who desire nasal reshaping or improvement in nasal breathing/function
- Individuals with realistic expectations. (Rhinoplasty can help you improve upon your existing nose, but it cannot deliver “perfection,” nor can it give you the nose of someone else.)
Recovery
Most patients feel ready to return to work or school after 1 or 2 weeks, depending on the level of activity required. Typically after 3 weeks, most normal non-contact activities can be resumed.
Eyelid Surgery
Details
Eyelid Surgery, or "Blepharoplasty" is a highly individualized procedure that can address excess skin, smooth wrinkles, reduce puffiness, and correct other signs of aging around the upper and lower eyelids. Our eyelids are home to the thinnest, most delicate skin on our bodies, so it’s no surprise that signs of aging will begin to appear around our eyes earlier than in most other areas. Blepharoplasty can give you a more "refreshed" and youthful look by addressing excess skin and puffiness. After a comprehensive exam and discussion of your goals, Dr. Jacobson may recommend an upper or lower blepharoplasty, or a combination of both.
Downtime
3-7 days of surgical downtime and up to 14 days of social downtime
Who is a good candidate?
- Non-smokers
- Individuals 30-50+ years old in generally good health
- Individuals without serious eye problems or conditions that impair wound healing
- Individuals with realistic goals and expectations
Recovery
Most patients are presentable to the public in 10-14 days. One week of lifting restrictions is common, while the delicate tissue around your eyes heals. Ultimately, it may take a few months before final healing is completed. As every patient heals a little differently, your cosmetic surgeon will give you detailed instructions for aftercare and returning to activity.
Brow Lift
Details
Brow Lift, or "Forehead Lift" is a procedure that addresses the upper face and forehead and can be performed in a number of ways. Endoscopic brow lift allows for minimal scarring and well camoflauged incisions within the hairline. By removing excess sagging skin on the forehead and repositioning the underlying muscles and tissues, a brow lift can correct a heavy, sagging brow, eliminate deep furrows, and restore a smoother, more youthful contour to the upper one-third of the face.

Who is a good candidate?

Your incisions may be closed with sutures or staples, which are typically removed about 1 week after surgery. Swelling and bruising are most common during the first 10 days after surgery, and are mostly resolved after about 2 weeks. Patients can expect 2-4 weeks of lifting restrictions.
Facial Fat Transfer
Details
Facial fat transfer, or "Fat Grafting" transfers fat from areas in which you have excess fat, such as the outer thighs, hips, or stomach and injects it into areas that may be lacking in volume, such as your cheek, brow, and lip to create an overall more youthful appearance. This safe, long-lasting, well-tolerated procedure produces natural-looking results. The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, but is best when combined with a facelift to address areas of voume deficiency, fully optimizing the results of facial rejuvination.

When combined with a facelift, 5-7 days of surgical downtime and up to 14 days of social downtime

Otoplasty

Ear surgery, also known as otoplasty, can improve the shape, position or proportion of the ear. A defect in the ear structure that is present at birth or that becomes apparent with development can be corrected by otoplasty. This procedure can also treat misshapen ears caused by injury. By addressing the size, shape and proportions of the ears, otoplasty is a procedure that can have a profound effect on self-esteem of the patient.

Bandages and dressing will be placed during surgery and will be removed by your surgeon at your postoperative followup. It is essential that bandages remain intact and are not removed by you for any reason. Failure to do so may result in loss of some of the correction and may require a secondary surgery. Ear reshaping patients can expect 1 week of lifting restrictions.
